Yes. It is java. There is a process that runs all the time in the background and there is a desktop app that you can start to connect to it and control it and its config. I have it running on a single Linux server that is my file server. You can tweak the desktop app to connect to a remote host over an ssh tunnel so you can control the server process that runs on a headless machine.
