I have been pretty happy with NearlyFreeSpeech.net. I only use their DNS and domain registration services, and so far, I had not had any issues. They have very straightforward billing and pretty affordable WHOIS privacy. Their control panel is also simpler (and IMHO better) than Godaddy's. No annoying upsells either... One word of caution: it seems that their hosting service does go down every once in a while, so if you plan on hosting any sites, you might want to look elsewhere. Otherwise, I would definitely reccomend them for domain registration (especially with WHOIS privacy), DNS, etc. Oh, and as a plus, they have a very good policy for dealing with DMCA/subpoenas/DHS or whoever might come after your domains :). Of course, we all know Godaddy's record with shutting down domains and cooperating with the Feds based on the flimsiest pretenses. Hope that helps, K On Wed, Apr 6, 2011 at 9:59 PM, Mike Fried <[email protected]> wrote: > I know the topic of domain registrars came up last > month but I wonder if more people can come forward > with their suggestions. > > Especially now that the head of Godaddy is out there > bragging about killing an elephant for the "good of > the people".
