I started the thread about domain registrars a couple of weeks ago.

I use 1and1.com. Unlike other registrars, they do not charge extra for domain privacy.

The issue I was having is that before when you fill out the forms for a domain (it is a multi-page form), they used to have a page where you would select whether you wanted that domain to have public or private registration. They got rid of that page. Now you can only make a domain private after you get it. I don't know why they did this or if it is permanent.

Plus when I got this domain I changed my contact info. So it took me a week to get domain privacy. I got another one later, and I was able to "privatize" it in a day. It is a bit irritating that they brag they offer domain privacy, yet it is not the default and I cannot get privacy until after I get a domain.

For the time being I will stick with 1and1.com.

I inherited a site that had DNS via 1and1.com.  Don't recall all the
details but was unimpressed enough to migrate away from them.   So many
providers, so little memory :)

I host a lot of domains via domaindiscover.com and have been happy with
them for many years now.
