I just wrote this shell script, using a random USB thumb drive I had lying
around.  Obviously, I wouldn't suggest it as being very secure, especially
as that serial number appears rather silly.  I've done that with a Bluetooth
phone before for fun as well.  If you search on the web, you should be able
to find a few examples.
