I was thinking the DNS issue would be something to look into. Carey,
you mentioned way back that you had at one time connected a computer
directly to your cable modem and your online access was still kind of
dodgy. Comcast being Comcast their DNS could have been part of the
problems you were having. Did you try one of the public DNS's?
OpenDNS -- 208.67.222.222, 208.67.220.220
Google DNS -- 8.8.8.8, 8.8.4.4
OpenDNS FamilyShield -- 208.67.222.123, 208.67.220.123
