PCI/IRQ hardware question

I've been sitting on a DVICO DVB-T card since Christmas and now that the drivers are included in the kernel I compiled a 2.6.12-rc4 this weekend and had a look at setting up digital tv on something simple, xawtv-4.x which is simple and stable enough for my needs, and most importantly, it comes with some diagnostic aps. After compiling xawtv I found that I can't scan for analog stations but that the dvb option is greyed out and not available. So this made me think that maybe my dvb pci card is not being recognised correctly. According to dmesg it is correctly identified and devices are created. But on a closer look I noticed that it is being assigned IRQ 11 and then following that my ethernet card is also being assigned IRQ 11. When I do an lspci I find that this card is listed after my nic and that the dvb-t card is then listed as an "unkown device" I'm thinking that both cards can't live at the same IRQ and that the nic keeps that IRQ because its the last assigned it. Consequently this is why I can't access the dvb-t card with xawtv to use for dvb tv. Its recognised crooectly at boot but ends up with no IRQ address.
