IPCop upgrade

Hi all,

I figure it is about time I performed an upgrade on my IPCop firewall box.
I have been to the IP Cop page and read the HOWTO but the links to the hardware compatibility page are broken. I currently run IPCop 1.2 on a P100 with 24Mb RAM and an 850Mb HDD, will this cope with IPCop 1.4.6?

Another problem I have encountered is in writing the config to a backup floppy, using the backup command in the Web Interface. I formatted an ext2 floppy in my normal desktop machine and then performed the backup as recommended. The FDD light was on and all the correct "writing noises" were coming from the box, but when I loaded the floppy into my Desktop machine to check the backup there was nothing on the disk.

The info on the backup page of the web interface indicated that the files had indeed been copied and verified, but I could not read them.

My understanding of this process is that if I successfully backup to the floppy then while installing the latest version I may "restore". this should setup my bpalogin details as before. Perhaps someone may be able to shed some light on my experiences.

I would appreciate it.
