Perhaps this option will stop this brain dead Novell E-mail client from top posting the sig... I found out about Melb Wireless cause the old 11mbs wap went down here so I bought my D-Link DWL-7100AP in from home, when one of the guys here at work did a wireless scan, he found another WAP here in Scoresby with the ESSID set to melbournewireless.org.au Ok, I am curious about this idea, I first found it while searching for info on WAP and found the NSW Wireless free-net.. So, what is needed? I have a WAP, security not enabled at the moment, I also have a Optus Cable connection from home, is it just a case of BB connection and free access to the world, or a LoS uWave connection to Mt Dandy and a local AP hung off that? >>> [email protected] 8/07/2005 11:13:30 am >>> -------- Original Message -------- Subject: Monthly meeting this Friday! Date: Tue, 5 Jul 2005 09:37:56 +1000 From: Steven Haigh<[email protected]> To: [email protected] Yes, it's that time again. This Friday is the monthly Melbourne Wireless meeting. This weeks meeting is quite different from the normal ones. Lined up this month, we have: 1) A presentation by Roger Venning on OSPF and an example of it working live in action! This includes what happens when a node goes offline! 2) A quick demonstration of installing OpenWRT on Linksys WRT54GS routers by yours truely. I'll be talking about the installation, what to be careful of, what you'll need to do, and how to revert back to Linksys firmware if you don't like OpenWRT. If you have a WRT54 you would like to have OpenWRT installed on, feel free to bring it along! I will also be demonstrating some of the functionality that can be added to the WRT range when using OpenWRT. It's at the same place as always, Hawthorn Scout Hall, 13 Victoria Road, Hawthorn (Melways map ref. 45 G10).
