Wireless connectivity

I have this problem that I have been researching on the Internet but
cannot find an answer! Sorry it doesn't relate directly with Linux.

I have 2 "Surecom" 108mps wireless access points. I'm using WPA
encryption (only because it has the feature and offers more security).

I want to turn one of the AP's into a repeater BUT the option is not
made available in the configuration menu of the AP (i.e. the AP mode
doesn't allow you to choose the "repeater" mode).

Now I have 2 possible issues:

1. These brand of APs don't allow you to use WPA encryption and use
the AP as a repeater at the same time, or

2. I'm completely missing something in the set up of the AP in
repeater mode altogether.

Any suggestions? Or did I buy a crappy product?

If I can't get around this I'll just go back to boring old WEP.
