It was a very interesting evening.  There were around 40-50 people
at the meeting.  The format was a fairly long period at the start
of the meeting where people just mingled and chatted about whatever
they wanted to, followed by a BBQ, then a "formal" technical
presentation (about modifying access poits).

I made a point of meeting, and talking to, as many people as possible
and found them to be very friendly and helpful.  They seem to be a
very active group, where a lot of the activity is happeneing out
"in the field" at people's houses, putting up antennae and setting
up wireless links, etc.

Their website has most of what you would want to know about them on
it - www.melbournewireless.org.au -  and it only costs $10/annum to
become a member.  I signed up for two years.
