You may want to pay attention to your /var/tmp/portage directory and your /usr/portage/distfiles as these tend to grow occasionally. The /var/tmp/portage is where you compile everything, so you may want to make it large, and /usr/portage/distfiles is where you store your source code... These can be changed in /etc/make.conf.
