MLUG - What has been happening, your opinions wanted

Hey everyone. I thought it was about time I updated you guys on some
things that have been happening and a few things were brought up to
ask for your opinion.

First and fore most: I attended the Melbourne Novell User Groups
meeting as an MLUG rep for a basic 'meet the local lugs' 'thing'. At a
meeting in the near future we may reciprocate and run something of the
same sort.

I have also been invited to attend a meeting of the Melbourne Progress
User Group to give a talk about Linux in the server space, which will
be taking place next month and I hope to use that as an area for
active linux recruitment.

During the MNUG meeting, I spoke with Andrew Chalmers, president of
LUV. Now before you all start, neither of us want merger of LUG's -
and I severly doubt anything of the sort would ever happen even if we
did both want it, we do both believe there is room for open
collaboration between the lugs though - we both have separate
demographics we seem to attract - there are also things that LUV have
that we don't - like SIGs (although if anyone does want to create a
sig as an umbrella of mlug, and can get some people interested, I am
certainly able to set up a list for you, and web space).

The Oracle advertising campaign through MLUG finished about a month
ago - I hope it did not annoy any of you too much, but it has given
mlug a bit of room to breath now.

There are a few things that I really want your opinions on so if you
