Not in slack-10.2. The changelog for stable for Sat Mar 26 23:04:41 PST 2005 
(which was current back then) noted the removal and provided some comment 
about the removal. I had noticed on slack lists that there was more and more 
references to Dropline Gnome on Slackware and I guess that since there were 
projects such as Dropline which uses PAM which Pat won't, and because Gnome:

"need(s) to be fixed and polished beyond  the way it ships from upstream more 
so than, say, KDE or XFce"

"even the stable" releases usually aren't quite ready yet"
