Unfortunately like wifi-radar and the ubuntu-network tool wlass requires
that you have a key. My problem is I don't know my key and our system
does not issue them as such - I have two certificates - user.pem and root.pem.
I am using an IBM R52 Intel/Centrino laptop with an Intel Wireless card
which Windows describes as Intel PRO/Wireless 2915ABG Net
I have installed xsupplicant and provided the path to these in
xsupplicant.conf and have done the whole routine of
iwconfig eth1 key 1234567890 essid eduPaSS-xxxx-xx
iwlist scan gives
eth1 Scan completed :
Cell 01 - Address: 00:13:19:02:8E:B0
ESSID:"eduPaSS-xxxx-xx"
Protocol:IEEE 802.11bg
Mode:Master
Channel:6
Encryption key:on
Bit Rate:54 Mb/s
Extra: Rates (Mb/s): 1 2 5.5 6 9 11 12 18 24 36 48
54
Quality=46/100 Signal level=-73 dBm
Extra: Last beacon: 3271ms ago
Then I issue
xsupplicant -d 4 -f -i eth1 -c /etc/xsupplicant/xsupplicant.conf
and get this response:
[STATE] Reinit state machine
[INT] Clearing keys!
[INT] Initializing socket for interface eth1..
Couldn't initialize raw socket for interface eth1!
Couldn't initalize!!!!
My xsupplicant file is very short if there are any experts out there!
