Hi all,

OK I upgraded to 3.0.14a on Breezy but alas still had no joy. I am able to
join the domain ok with:

net rpc join DRYBURGH -U root

(I use rpc since the PDC is running 2.2.8 which I'm told is more like NT4
than ADS).

But wbinfo -u still gives the error, and the server logs show "Unknown
auth type 44 requested".

Additionally, when I run:

net rpc user -I 192.168.2.1

I get returned perfectly the list of users in the domain, but if I don't
specify the IP address of the PDC, it returns "Could not connect to
127.0.0.1" as if it's looking at the localhost. I'm thinking this could be
the problem, but I can't figure out how to tell samba/winbind to go find
the PDC other than in the

password server = 192.168.2.1

configuration directive of the smb.conf file. Can anyone give me any
further ideas? I seem to have exhausted man, google, groups, samba list
archives and I _really_ don't want to upset my happy PDC by upgrading :(
