Lasers are getting cheaper, but beware of windows GDI-only ones. If it takes postscript files, it'll work in linux. Inkjets rarely have duplexers (i've never seen one). The running-cost per page is lower with laser. One toner cartridge usually lasts between 5000-15000 pages on mine (cheap-option cartridge has half the toner).
