Hi Keith
It seems like some "event" has occurred for previously running scripts
to just stop working.
Have you made any changes to your system or users recently?
You couldn't have somehow made your /home dir noexec or something?
Think about any changes you have made and what effect they might have
inadvertently had.

An additional bit - this error happens with other scripts as well - all

Having trouble getting a script to run - it has run well for weeks until
a few days ago.

keith@box4:/tmp$
I type & tab to complete:
/home/keith/data/keithStuff/scripts/2hours10data.sh

The response is alomost instantaneous:
bash: /home/keith/data/keithStuff/scripts/2hours10data.sh: Permission
denied
So:
keith@box4:/tmp$ sudo
/home/keith/data/keithStuff/scripts/2hours10data.sh
sudo: unable to execute
/home/keith/data/keithStuff/scripts/2hours10data.sh: Permission denied

again instantaneous

To check that I should be able to run the script: keith@box4:/tmp$ ls -l
!$ ls -l /home/keith/data/keithStuff/scripts/2hours10data.sh
-rwxr-xr-x 1 keith keith 1394 Jul 17 12:50
/home/keith/data/keithStuff/scripts/2hours10data.sh
keith@box4:/tmp$

If I copy & paste teh contents of the script into a knosole, everything
is fine.

What have I missed?  please.
