RE: Meeting Reminder Notice

Tony, you must be pretty fit. All that climbing up and down antenna
towers I'd say. :)

Geoff, do you mean the venue (Computerbank) or the Pre-meeting location?

If you mean the Pre-meeting location, I also was thinking that a new
pre-meeting venue might be in order due to the distance from Universal
Pizza now. I think it warrants some investigation of closer venues.
Possibly the pub Bob mentioned.
 
If you mean the venue, for the time being at least, it will stay at
Computerbank. 
I realise it is a bit out of the way, but it's not too far from Nth
Melbourne Station, or the top end of Victoria St where the tram turns
the corner (about 400 meters from both to Computerbank).
It's informal and has any services that we may require at meetings
available at a very cheap price.
They also have insurance, etc, which MLUG doesn't have.

Personally, I am loathe to use a lecture hall for the "environment" it
creates. 
MLUG was founded to create a more relaxed, social environment where
nobody has to feel they have to put their hand up to ask a question.

Well, actually I find the current location really unfriendly for Public
Transport.  Couldn't we have our techy talks at Melbourne uni in a
lecture theatre or something?  I recall that that is what L.U.V does.
Then for meetings where it's just a meeting of the minds - no formal
talk, we could still easily go to lygon St.
