Re: Linux distro for newbies

Personally, I would be looking at a stripped down FC5 install with Yum
running in daily cron job, possibly with XPDE installed if the users are
crossing from Doze.  Main reason is I can maintain FC easily myself
(having used Red Had since version 5) and availability of patches.

Having said this, patches are easily attainable for most major distros
now, but as I said I'm comfy with RH/FC distros.
