Hi there!

I am having trouble with PostgreSQL (which is very new to me).

I want to set it up so that every user from any host requires a password
to log in. I am trying to use an admin tool: phpPgAdmin

http://phppgadmin.sourceforge.net/index.php?page=faq

It states that I need to add the line:

"
....
To enable this, edit your postgresql.conf file and change this line:

	#tcpip_socket = false

to:

	tcpip_socket = true

and then restart PostgreSQL.
"

When I do this PostgreSQL will not restart. My Googling just points me
back to this page. Surly there is something I am missing?

Any pointers?

Thanks

Piers
