You don't give the Supermicro model #. I bought a second Asus M2V (AM2) motherboard open-box for half-price from Newegg and it works fine. CPU standoffs/mounts are usually on the motherboard itself; how does the chassis come into this? Plastic standoffs are better because they can't short out. Steve -- Stephen B.
