[NMLUG] Wish list - permissionless Linux

For those of us working on a single system unlikely to be accessed by
anyone else, the permissions hierarchy is pointless and anti-productive.
I hate to think how many times I've had to enter the root password just
in one session. Login as root? I used to try that with Mandriva, which
was set to default anguish, telling me how dangerous it was, with a
blood-red screen to emphasize the point.

I would guess that some offshoot of Ubuntu will come up with an
inclusive permissions on/off switch for us indie types.
