However, I read in passing about "freeghost", heretofore referred to as FOG to avoid nasty letters from Symantec: http://freeghost.no-ip.org/ ...but this is for cloning Windows systems using Linux. [ :-) ]. As I have noted in the past, I use DOS-based Symantec Ghost [11.02] booted under FreeDOS, to clone ext3 and NTFS drives. As far as CDs, you could look around for Hiren's BootCD. I really don't see the point of involving FTP in a cloning process. Once you've put your drive data online you've sacrificed your privacy security. Nor would I use these Web services that offer to store your data, email etc. Sure. Hahahaha. And yesterday Congress expanded the Government's "wiretapping" powers. Steve -- Stephen B.
