Here's just a quick update about nominations received and election
platform's of the candidates (so far only mine). Current as of 10 minutes
ago. If there are any corrections or omissions let me know. Particularly
if you've been nominated could you indicate whether you accept or decline
the nomination.

The latest info is also on the website under
http://www.slug.org.au/2005/election.html

Nominations
===========

Nominations listed in position order and then alphabetical order by
surname. It was discussed on the list, and several people in touch with
legal issues belive there is no reason people under 18 can't accept
Ordinary Committee positions. The current committee has not voiced any
objections.

Secretary
=========

    Grant Parnell (nominated by Chris Deigan, seconded by Jan Schmidt,
accepted)

    FWIW I don't think I did as good a job as Mary did (2003-2004) but at
least I've eventually gotten things sorted out. There's lots of things I
wanted to get done but didn't manage to do so. Therefor I'll publicly
state my aims for SLUG in the coming year.

        * I want to get more youth involved because a) they have more time
to do stuff and b) I like teaching stuff.
        * I'd like to hold monthly hands on workshops somewhere - Anyone
got a club house with some storage available?
        * I'd like to see more audience participation at SLUG with things
like debates, quizes, demos, mini-tutorials.
        * I'd like to hold the committee meetings via IRC.

Treasurer
=========

    Robert Collins (nominated by Chris Deigan, seconded by Tony Green,
accepted)
