Monthly Meeting TONIGHT

Hi everyone,

Just an update from the announcement on Tuesday, the Special Interest
talk tonight will be from James Dumay regarding mono.

Dinner is expected to be held again at Ippon Sushin (in Chinatown), cost
should be $20 a head.

Apologies for the late announcement this month, all the updated details

    Friday, April 28, 6.30pm - 9.30pm
Where:
    UTS Broadway 

SLUG's monthly meeting featuring talks and SLUGlets. Meetings are open
to the general public, and free of charge.

This month's meeting will be held in room 2.03.02 (Building 2, Level
3, Room 2), at UTS Broadway (There is a map of UTS available at
http://www.uts.edu.au/about/mapsdirections/bway.html).

General Talk - LA Live!
Following the success from our November meeting last year, James Purser
is returning to do an episode of the Linux Australia Update podcast live
from SLUG.

Special Interest Talk: James Dumay - I got Mono from Miguel de Icaza
Ill be covering cool GNOME applications, Cross Platform Development,
Standards, why Mono is important to the future to the future of the
"Linux Desktop" and a introduction to writing applications with the
platform...

As usual, SLUGlets will be running during the second half
of the meeting for those who do not wish to attend the second talk.

6:30pm: Doors Open
6:45pm: The Usual Suspects
    Q&A - Introduction to SLUG + "What has Linux done for/to me lately?" + SLUG News & Discussion 
7:00pm (approx): General Talk
    General Talk: LA Live
8:00pm (approx): Break
    Refreshments in the foyer, for a small covering charge. 
8:20pm (approx): Split into two groups for:
        * Special Interest Talk: James Dumay - I got Mono from Miguel de Icaza
        * SLUGlets: quick talks and discussion of Linux and Free Software.
9:30pm (approx) Dinner
    Dinner: Ippon Sushi - $20 a head.
