Hi everyone,
This is an updated announcement for our next SLUG meeting, on 28 March. This
is a special one as it includes our Annual General Meeting. We have also
confirmed our In-Depth Talk.
For a full announcement, see http://www.slug.org.au/node/94
The AGM includes elections for the 2008-2009 Committee. We need candidates!
All but two of our current committee are retiring, so that leaves five
vacancies that we need to fill.
For a user-friendly guide to the AGM, including how to get involved in the
elections, see
http://lists.slug.org.au/archives/announce/2008/03/msg00003.html
For a better idea of what being a Committee member entails, see
http://www.slug.org.au/participation
If you have any questions, please ask on the lists.
Sridhar

= About =
SLUG's monthly meeting + AGM, featuring the normal AGM bits and a
talk. Meetings are open to the general public, and free of charge.
= Talks =
** AGM: The 2008 SLUG Annual General Meeting **
The SLUG AGM[2] includes annual reports from the president and treasurer, a
vote on constitutional amendments, and committee elections. You will need to
be a SLUG member[3] to vote. We will be accepting memberships on the evening.
For a more user-friendly guide to the AGM, see here[4].
** In-Depth Talk: Pia and Jeff Waugh - "OLPC Australia and awesomeness!" **
Pia and Jeff will talk about the One Laptop Per Child, some of the really
funky connectivity and collaboration technologies, and learning programming
on the OLPC. They will also talk about OLPC Australia, what's happening, and
how you can get involved. They will have a few XO laptops to demonstrate.
Due to the general appeal of this talk, we will not be holding SLUGlets this
month.
= Meeting Schedule =

* 18:30 : Announcements, News, Introductions
* 18:45 : SLUG AGM
