NextG/HSDPA/GPRS Samsung

is whirlpool the best place for nextg/mobile data information?

I really wasn't looking for a new phone, till Telstra rep phoned me and
told me I need to renew my contract, and, 'do we have a deal for you'

I currently use Motorola L2 GSM/GPRS on Telstra $5/5MB plan;
I run my Palm over bluetooth/GPRS, works good;
I'm perfectly happy with it, GPRS speed (or lack of) doesn't worry me that
much for emails

Telstra is offering me a 'free' Samsung A412 handset with HSDPA 1.8MBPS
in return for 2 years signon

HSDPA 1.8 is the lowest ? NextG speed, I suspect

any one uses Samsung mobiles, are the OK?

with Motorola, I can hook up Palm to it over bluetooth, which is what I'd
like to do with this one
