Admittedly most of them aren't stunningly good at representing what the
camera angle is, but
http://dicepool.com/catalog/popup_image.php?pID=1287 seems to show a ten
sided die on the far left (one of the ones with a 5 on the uppermost
face) and the answer looks like, in general "the same way you tell what
number a Platonic solid is showing, the face that is upwards and [most]
parallel to the ceiling". I assume there's some special convention for
reading the pyramid on the far right.

These things have been used in games for ages, someone would have
noticed by now if it was impossible to decide (or define unambiguously)
which number they had rolled.
