Ken, Thanks for your response. Yes, the lights work well. I have tried the "repair network connection" option, with not a lot of luck. How would I add "obligatory linux" to my laptop, without messing things up & still use all that is current on the "windows" side as well, and is the network manager that you are having a fight with in Linux or Windows? So it is not hardware outside laptop. The network driver, is it installed correctly. Have you tried to 'repair network connection'. Should be at bottom right of screen. I would add obligatory Linux is so much easier but I am having a fight with network manager at present.
