I have a Vista with Linksys QuickVPN going to Linksys RV042, it was setup
few month ago, and, has worked since.

until recently...

now, it won't establish VPN anymore.

the RV042 end is OK, as I can still VPN from a QVPN client I have on XPP;
I suspect the Vista user(s) perhaps installed some 3rd party fwall or stuff?

I've disabled Vista fwall and TrendMicro fwall, still no go

is there a way to boot Vista without any 3rd party stuff, is that what
'safe boot with networking' does ?

or should I try to roll back Vista 3 month prior to when the VPN was setup?

hints, tips and words of encouragement welcomed
