Re: GPRS NextG/3G mobile data Q

ATDT*99# tends to work to get the phone to make a GPRS/3g/Nextg attach, but
it can depend on the phone model. IIRC it will work like that on most moto's
and Nokia's, Sony-Ericsson users a profile system so sometimes you need to
do atdt*99***1#; 1 being the profile number for your internet APN.
Easiest way to test you are on NextG is check the phone it should have an
icon to indicate is attached to the network, then yeah just test the speed
with one of the speed test tools that works with your palm.
I used to see about 1-2mbps on my n95 connected to my ubuntu laptop, with
latency to an aussie DNS of about 200ms, to give you an idea.
