yes, from car odometer. tpg map gives this:
line of sight distance: 1727m. Possible cable distance: 2330m

I'll see if I can improve or optimize local wiring (ADSL modem is on 5m
extension cord from remote phone socket (after wall socket wiring failed
some time ago)
