NASA has an "Exploration center" that's open to the public -
http://www.nasa.gov/centers/ames/home/exploration.html. I went there in
November 07 and found it mixed; some of the exhibits (notably the Gemini
capsule) had high coolness value; but some of the other exhibits (eg, the
computerised interactive exhibits - running on OS9 and the original iMac)
were less than impressive. Still, it's free, and worth a visit if you've got
the time.

They do occasionally have events on the field open to the public, but
looking at the website there doesn't seem to be anything in the next few
weeks...

Google don't have anything open to the public; your best bet there is to try
to find a user group being hosted onsite.

The CHM does have a little bit of Google - one of the first racks of
Google's 'custom' servers.
