Hi, slug-chat, I wish to implement an install of ClearOS on my home network (for the advantages that it provides) on a P4 that i have gathering dust. However, my mother expressed concerns about the cacheing of internet, as it may cache a virus and wreak havoc in the network. She is not a technical user of any sort, and is getting her information (as far as i know) from non technical users as well. In her concerns, she noted that browser cache holds valuable information such as bank details in the cookies, and that if someone with malicious intent got a hold of them, could cause considerable trouble. At first i dismissed her claims, but i have been thinking, and it does seem to make sense. Are her concerns valid, keeping in mind the antivirus/antimalware components of ClearOS? Obviously, ClearOS is not infallible, and may let something slip, but would it be able to prevent malware getting to the network if it is compromised?
