reducing 3G browser volume on Android ?

I have Android tablet, use on WiFi, ocassionally buy 3G data for it, use
it in spare time to read newspapers like smh;

did it last two days, and just notice I've clocked like 60 MB after 2
days, looking at traffic stats, it's almost all in browser traffic (using
built in A4 browser)

so I would like to reduce browser data volumes when on 3G, curious what d=
o
people do for that ?

I've found a 'TextOnly Browser', OK, though it seems a little not quite
ready yet,
also, I've found 'Onavo Extend' which does data compression on the fly,
that seems quite interesting

any other tips to reduce browser traffic volumes ? different browsers ?
