Abstract:
ICFP Programming Contest 2008 Redux
by Erik de Castro Lpoo
Each year, there is a programming contest as part of the International
Conference on Functional Programming. The 2008 contest was held two
weeks ago and the winner of the contest will be announced at the
conference itself in Canada in September.
This talk will introduce the ICFP, the competition and look at the
programming task that was set this year. Although I didn't actually
enter the competition I have written some code to solve the problem
and will demonstrate that during the talk.
Much of the inspiration for this talk (and the slides) comes from a
talk given by Ben Lippmeier from Canberra's ANU at FP-Syd.
