Greetings,

Apparently I need to make some clarifications.

This was not a refusal to provide information, as has been
misunderstood.

Had I been able to obtain the permission of the parties involved in the
incident -- including the person who received the unwelcome action --
then I would obliged with the relevant text from my logs. Until that
time, I decided to throw my support behind the other two who had voiced
their opinions.

For those still confused, the incident being discussed occured
*entirely* online, in IRC.

If you are *still* confused: An "action" in IRC is a way of appearing to
do things, rather than say things. It is usually done by typing /me
followed by the action you wish to be seen as doing (eg, "/me writes an
email" appears as "Melissa writes an email")

Yeah, that's what I thought.

Although, for clarification, I only meant that statement as a rebuttal
to the assertion it was impossible to stop the candidacy.

However, again to clarify, the application of current legislations on
events that occur purely in Internet Land is still largely unknown,
untested and unpredictable (similar to the uptake of new enhancement
methods on photographic evidence, etc).

However, laws are slowly catching up with the digitalisation of society,
and nothing should be taken for granted. Also, IANAL and hence YMMV.

No, I am not saying that was spam, porn or a death threat.
