I like this idea, somewhat.

One of the benefits of Golden Harbour has been the fixed cost per
head; making it easy for Ken to make sure everyone coughs up. If we
had something that wasn't fixed price, there's the laborious matching
between what you ordered and what you paid.

Either of these pubs would solve that problem - if you want food, go
pay for it yourself. Other groups (SyPy for instance) do this
regularly, and it works well for them.

However, it's not without flaws:one being that a pub is going to be
packed at 9am on Friday. More
importantly though, we have quite a few minors who regularly come to dinner
- including one of the committee - and I don't know if they'd be able to get
into the pub. I know we've avoided The Point for committee meals in the past
because of the "Under 18s not allowed in here, ever, under any
circumstances, even if accompanied by real people^W^Wadults" signs.

I'd be interested in the community reaction to the idea of either a pub; or
some other non-fixed-price-per-head venue.
