Handling Meeting RSVPs (WAS: Re: [activities] January meeting)

Besides the privacy concerns, it's a nuisance that I need to be creating an account just to attend a meeting.

I have no doubt SLUG could setup existing or create software to handle the process of taking RSVPs on SLUG's own infrastructure where the data is handled in a more discreet manner.

I anticipate the response I'll here to the above is that the committee doesn't have the time, and just needs something which "works". If that's the case, I'm certainly willing to volunteer to help out, and I don't doubt that others would as well.
