[activities] Proposed Website Redesign - About SLUG Paragraph

Hi Tim,

Looking at the prototype of the new website:
<http://sydney-linux-user-group.appspot.com/>

With the layout, rather than the SLUG watermark, which makes 
the text difficult to read - I suggest a banner across the 
Top - SLUG at the right corner and Sydney Linux Users Group 
at the left corner.

My 2c worth is to have three panels, below the header 
banner: "Meetings" or "Events", Mailing lists, Get Involved.

I like the idea of displaying bits from the last post to a 
mailing list, it would be good if the Meetings/Events panel 
could provide details of the next event - when, where, what, 
register...I would like to see the call for speakers/program 
of speakers on the homepage...if possible.

Another 2c worth is not to make the video the whole page - I 
visit too many websites which are a black screen with a 
flash logo in the middle.

Below, is a start on a para about SLUG. To make it more 
readable, I have placed the links at the end. Comments welcome?

The first Sydney Linux User Group (SLUG) was on Friday 30th 
July 1993 only 2 years after Linus Torvalds originally 
created the Linux operating system <sup>1</sup>.

SLUG was incorporated in 1999 <sup>2</sup> . At the 
<link>2010 AGM</link> members voted for SLUG to become a 
Sub-committee of <link>Linux Australia</link>.

SLUG has a diverse membership of users, developers, 
sysadmins and advocates.

Membership is Free. Members organise meetings on the last 
Friday Evening of each month and discuss Linux via general 
and special interest Mailing Lists.
