This month we will have two short talks plus a couple of lightning talks!

Our first short talk will be <b>Reuse or Recycle Your Old Computer</b> by  
<b>Tom Worthington.</b>

<blockquote><i>Computers and mobile devices become obsolete much quicker  
than
other consumer products, such as refrigerators and cars. Electronic
equipment can contain toxic and valuable materials which should not be
simply put into landfill. Before you buy a new computer, tablet or
phone, look at the options of what to do with the old one.</i>

<i>Tom is the author of the free ebook "<a  
href="http://www.tomw.net.au/ict_sustainability/introduction.shtml">ICT  
Sustainability:
Assessment and Strategies for a Low Carbon Future</a>"
and teaches
an on-line <a  
href="http://programsandcourses.anu.edu.au/course/COMP7310">course in ICT  
sustainability</a> which starts at the Australian
National University in mid-February.

Our second short talk will be <b>Subuser with Docker</b> by <b>Robert  
Smit</b>.

<blockquote><i>Docker update and subuser a tool using Docker to  
isolate/sandbox your ever day applications. Why should Firefox have access  
to any other folder other than downloads directory.</i></blockquote>

There will also be a couple of lightning talks on the night; if you have  
something you want to share, something you found or used or wrote for  
Linux, or a question you would like to ask, please do put your name up on  
the board toward the beginning of the meeting.

-- Getting there --

The Google office is the big black building marked "Accenture" opposite
Star City Pirrama Road facade.

If using the trains, you can go either get off at;

  * Town Hall station, head towards Darling Harbour, walk across the Pyrmont
    footbridge and then follow Pirrama Road towards Star city.
  * Central station, then follow the light rail instructions.

If using the buses, the route 443 stops right out front of the building.

If using the light rail, get off at Star City station and walk across the
street.

If you drive, then you can look for parking on the suburban streets around
the office (or pay for parking at the Casino), and then walk from there.

=== Afterwards ===

We'll be aiming to finish by 8pm and will be heading to the Pyrmont Bridge
Hotel (PBH) afterwards to socalise and eat dinner. The PBH is marked on the
map.
