Ohm, this is really very interesting topic. I believe Spring and Hibernate might become more popular choices in business layer but as a MVC framework Spring may not take over Struts. I believe it is because Spring is not component based and event driven. JSF or Tapestry looks like a good choice if you are willing to learn the new framework. Right now Tapestry has very little following in the industry and it's steep learning curve is little disadvantage. Looks like JSF and MyFaces are emerging well, and has pretty good chances of success because it can be used with existing Struts applications also. I believe this should be the huge advantage of JSF. So, my opinion is, if you are willing to learn the new framework go with JSF, else for now go with Struts and as it becomes more clear you will able to switch to JSF easily. Wicket 9. Other??? Note: For various reasons, Java is the only real choice for language, which is why RoR is not listed. That and I don't know Ruby and don't have time to learn another language at the moment. FWIW, Struts is the only one of these (well, other than option 0) that I've worked with... so if you recommend something else, I'd like to hear some persuasive argument why that choice is better than Struts, and why it would be worth my investing the time to learn a different framework.
