Chapel Hill-Nelson Highway Research Triangle Park, North Carolina Abstract: Java is a large platform which includes many classes, features, and libraries, many of which most Java developers may not have encountered for various reasons. Some features are new, some are obscure, some are almost hidden in "dark corners" of the platform. This talk will discuss some of these areas as well as some 3rd party libraries on a similar theme. About the Speaker: Phillip is currently a contract Applications Software Engineer with Red Hat Inc. in Raleigh, NC where he is working on RHN (Red Hat Network). He was previously at Ineo USA, IBM and Voice Data Solutions, where he has worked on various projects including Computer Telephony applications, E-Business applications, Middleware and Systems Management. His current interests include distributed computering, grid computing and high-performance computing. Phillip holds an A.S. in Computer Programming from Wake Technical Community College, is currently finishing up an A.S. in High Performance Computing from Wake Tech, and is a Sun Certified Java Programmer and Sun Certified Web Component Developer. At the top of the ramp turn left (south) on Davis Drive Proceed to the light at Davis and 54 (aprox 1/3 mile) Turn left onto 54. Proceed approx. 1/4 mile to first (of 3) Nortel entrances on your left. Turn left into Nortel site (you should see a pond to your right) Proceed aprox. 200 yards to the first right turn into parking lot. Park near center of near side of building Enter through guard station near BIG YELLOW WALL. (Know your car's license plate number -- guard may ask.) >From Durham: Proceed East on I40 to Davis Drive (Exit 280) Take exit for Davis Drive.
