Question on Java work in and around RTP

Hello all,

I'm a local developer that's just started looking for a new job. Pardon the 
anonymity; current employer would be Most Distressed to know I'm thinking of 
leaving.

Be that as it may, I have a question for everyone here.

Is anybody in Raleigh actually ENJOYING what they're doing for a living?

Seems like every Java developer I've talked to recently has been more in the 
head-down slogging mode, than excited/energized by what they're working on.  
I'm looking for something to get me out of that space.

I'd love to hear from anyone who a) has been working for more than three 
years, b) been at their current job for more than six months, and c) 
actually looks forward to going to work in the morning.  (The time 
requirements are only because it's hard *not* to have fun at something 
that's new.  I'm interested in long-term possibilities).  Java is what I've 
been doing for a long time now, but related technologies are fine.

I guess what I'm mostly looking for companies that are worth working for.  
Are there any in the area any more?

Either on-list or direct mail is fine. If I get any responses, I'll try to 
summarize back to the list.
