Good morning! Just a friendly reminder! RTP Rational User Group Meeting tonight. No registration required; just show up! TIME: 6:00 pm Gather and refreshments. Main presentation at 6:30 pm LOCATION: IBM Campus - Bldg #500 (Software Group) cafeteria. MAP: http://www.rtprug.org/sitemap.pdf TOPIC: Where's Waldo: Uncovering Hard-to-find Application Killer ABSTRACT: We've all heard about performance anti-patterns, yet how do you find these problems in your system? I have used Rational Quantify for over ten years and have learned many tips and tricks to help uncover common anti-patterns. This presentation will describe the wealth of data generated by Quantify and how to use this data to uncover software performance problems such as excessive memory allocation, the ramp, unnecessary processing, one lane bridge, and more. SPEAKER: Claire Cates, SAS Speaker Bio: Principal Systems Developer - SAS Institute, Inc. Claire has been with SAS Institute for 23 years. During this time she has been involved in the development of many areas of the SAS System. For the past 10 years she has worked primarily on software performance and resource usage. Using 3rd party and in-house tools, Claire has been able to locate inefficient algorithms and recommend changes in order to improve overall system performance. BS Computer Science - NCSU MS Computer Science - University of South Carolina Hope to see you there! Jan [email protected]
