They still have those? :-)  All joking aside, I did just read an article
recently (no link handy though) which spoke to how "generation Y" kids
are generally move tech-aware than their parents, but yet don't
generally see technology as a career.  So they all love and use
cell-phones, laptops, pdas, blackberries, game consoles, etc, etc, but
aren't developing the interest in actually creating and working with
tech.  Now how accurate is that article? I dunno, but it's food for thought.

Generally speaking, I like the idea.  Of course the devil is in the
details, such as "who exactly is going to pull all this together?"
Maybe the JUG should look into forming an "outreach committee" or
something, a group of volunteers specifically tasked with these
kinds of outreach programs.
