I'll bet we could make a really nice open source product to document
spammers. Basically, kill the problem and made a nice plugin component for
PHP apps and Java apps. E.g. when a spam hits we tracert the IP of the
spammer then whois the Ip address space owner and file a claim
electronically and automatically. If we do not receive a response within 48
hours then we file a claim to the netowrk provider next up in the tracert. I
know some companies are already partnered with TimeWarner et al to find and
track phishing sites so maybe this business already exists. Anyone know?

I suspect the majority are ex-USA but we might find many are in the USA or
other countries which respect laws. If so, we can file under US law for
penalty payment I believe. Spam is a real pain an I haven't seen any
discussion forum or even email service which gets rid of 100%. yahoo mail
and gmail are doing pretty good but now they and most other mail services
trash good emails too. Maybe the US police departments already have such
systems but I doubt it seriously. ???

What I really want is for my blogging and  discussion forum software to have
an option to deny any posts from people outside of the USA. Does that exist?
