Re: HTML table API

I was a few sentences into a similar rant but a) I had an appointment to 
  get to and b) what I suggested was exactly what OP asked for :)

Anyway, I agree wholeheartedly.  Building HTML in code makes me gag a 
little but I can imagine there might be use cases for it.  I'd WAY 
rather use something like displaytag or the more modern JSF counterparts 
for building such things serverside.
