I can't speak for the industry, but my last job was a Java job. Now I use .NET and Ruby (separately not IronRuby). As you can see I keep my eye on Java stuff but it seems even the Java Posse spends an increasing amount of time discussing Scala and Groovy. Even the C# world is getting somewhat fragmented with ALT.NET and MVC movement. Java's stance backward compatibility is the real threat to attracting developers. Oracle loves Java.
