Presentation summary:

Tom will talk about what's new in Spring 3.0 while creating a demo app. For
this he'll use the SpringSource Tool Suite and deploy to SpringSource tc
Server Developer Edition which comes bundled freely with the Tool Suite.
Finally, Tom will profile the demo app using Spring Insight.

About the Speaker:

Tom McCuch is a Senior Sales Engineer for SpringSource with over twenty
years of experience in software engineering. Tom specializes in the
architecture, implementation, and deployment of distributed systems
requiring high Reliability, Availability, and Scalability (RAS) features.
Before joining SpringSource, Tom consulted enterprise clients across
multiple industries in the architecture of mission-critical solutions based
on open source software as well as led the engineering of enterprise Java
middleware supporting next-generation telecommunications products deployed
at tier-1 telcos both in the U.S. and Europe.

Admission:

Paid-up members of TriJUG may attend without additional charge. Non
members are asked to pay $5 per meeting. But, if you are either a full
time student or unemployed, then we ask only $2 per meeting. Membership
for 12 months is $40 and $15 respectively. The December meeting is an
open discussion Birds of a Feather meeting where food and refreshments
are free.

*From Raleigh:*
Proceed West on I40 to Davis Drive (Exit 280) Take exit for Davis Drive. At
the top of the ramp turn left (south) on Davis Drive. Proceed to the light
at Davis and 54 (approx 1/4 mile). Proceed *straight* through this light and
then turn left into Nortel entrace (approx another 1/3 mile). The main
parking lot is then the 2nd left and goes up hill. Proceed to the side of
the lot near the central walkway into the bldg (see satellite picture in
concise directions above). Take walk way up hill into bldg. (Know your car's
license plate number -- guard may ask.) Check your name off the guard's list
or add your name to the bottom. The meeting room is upstairs directly above
the guard station.

*From Durham:*
Proceed East on I40 to Davis Drive (Exit 280) Take exit for Davis Drive. At
the top of the ramp turn left (south) on Davis Drive. Proceed to the light
at Davis and 54 (approx 1/4 mile). Proceed *straight* through this light and
then turn left into Nortel entrace (approx another 1/3 mile). The main
parking lot is then the 2nd left and goes up hill. Proceed to the side of

*From Cary/Apex:*
Entering RTP on Davis proceed through the intersection with Hopson Rd (SR
1978), then watch for the right turn entrance into the Nortel site *before
Hwy 54* (approx 6/10 mile past Hopson). If you reach Hwy 54 you have gone
too far. After the right into the Nortel entrance the main parking lot is
then the 2nd left and goes up hill. Proceed to the side of the lot near the
central walkway into the bldg (see satellite picture in concise directions
above). Take walk way up hill into bldg. (Know your car's license plate
number -- guard may ask.) Check your name off the guard's list or add your
name to the bottom. The meeting room is upstairs directly above the guard
station.
